Every year since 1963, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation announcing National Small Business Week, which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners.
More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create about two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year.
As part of National Small Business Week, the U.S. Small Business Administration takes the opportunity to highlight the impact of outstanding entrepreneurs, small business owners, and others from all 50 states and U.S. territories. Every day, they're working to grow small businesses, create 21st century jobs, drive innovation, and increase America's global competitiveness.
Join us to celebrate National Small Business Week from April 30 to May 6, 2017. To do our part to support National Small Business Week, the Chamber is teaming up with the Illinois Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives and Microsoft’s 4MFG to bring you several recorded events through our Microsoft Community Connections relationship:
- Productivity- Productivity is important to all types of businesses. Maximize your efforts and investments with the efficient use of technology. Join us for a discussion on productivity tips for Office 365. Learn about new features to help get things done quickly and with fewer steps, easily create with others, and take documents on the go.
- Cybersecurity-Protect your Business. The Wall Street Journal reports that over 34,000 computer security incidents occur every day – and 62 percent of those incidents involve breaches of small and medium-sized businesses. Learn more about the rising threat to small and midsize businesses, and five ways you can help protect your business.
Each of these of webinars has been designed to provide value to Pike County Chamber of Commerce membership during National Small Business Week. They will be shown at the Chamber office in an informal setting. Each will be offered several times during the week to allow you to choose a time that best suits your business needs.
