Pike County Fall Color Drive
October 19th - October 20th 2013 Free
Every fall the Pike County Color Drive provides visitors with the opportunity to see the beauty of the rural areas of the county bathed in the splendor of autumn. Nearly every community in the county participates in Illinois’ premier countywide event. Each community provides a unique roster of events, activities, vendors, crafts, food, and exhibits for the general public to take part in. The county’s historic towns transport its visitors to a time when one-room schoolhouses and country churches dotted the landscape. This is the 25th Anniversary of the Pike County Fall Color Drive so plan on joining us! Take a break and carve a pumpkin, or see cider and apple butter being made. And did we mention FOOD? Lots and lots of great food!
This year's Map/Brochure with information is downloadable as a PDF here:
2013 Pike County Color Drive Map Brochure. Printed copies of the map/brrchures are now available at the Chamber Office/ Pike County Visitor Center.
The activities in each town are always evolving, so the Color Drive Committee maintains a web site www.pikecolordrive.com where you can usually find the most current information and the contact information for the coordinator in each town. For your convenience, here is a roster of site managers whom you can contact directly. Contact list for towns.
You can even follow the Pike County Fall Color Drive on Facebook at www.facebook.com/PikeCountyIllinoisFallColorDrive
Rotary Days/WBBA Color Drive updates
Again this year the Pittsfield Rotary and WBBA radio (FM 97.5) will be providing updates Saturday from 7 AM to 5 PM and from 1 PM to 4 PM Sunday. Tune your radios to 97.5 and listen. The updates will tell you what's happening in our communities and will certainly keep you entertained. Those Rotarians are a hoot!
If you are a local business or a Color Drive Vendor, the ads the Rotary sells and broadcasts during the weekend are a very affordable way to promote your business. Ads cost as little as $15 each, and there are discounts for 4 or more. The attached PDFS of the Vendor Letter and Ad Form give you all you need to get started.
