Visit Pike County, IL
Welcome to Pike County
The Pike County Chamber of Commerce welcomes you to our beautiful county. We hope your visit will be an enjoyable one. The rolling hills of Pike County provide a scenic backdrop to a variety of activities. Nestled between the Mississippi River to our west and the Illinois River to the east, Pike County is the perfect place to get away from it all.
We are proud of our ties to Abraham Lincoln and the New Philadelphia site, which was the first town in the United States to be platted and settled by an African American, and also to an early Mormon settlement.
Pike County has an abundance of natural resources and wildlife. Pike County leads the state of Illinois, and in fact the Midwest, in trophy-winning whitetail buck hunting. We also offer exceptional wild turkey hunting and fishing. We are home to a variety of outdoor activities with camping, boating, off-road jeeping, golf courses, hunting, parks, trails, lakes and, of course, our two rivers.
Our unique lodging offerings include state-of-the-art country lodges, guest houses, bed & breakfasts, historic hotels, cabins at the lake, and motels. Or bring your RV and try one of our lakes or campgrounds.
Antique shops and unique shopping venues await you. Our small communities offer more than 25 yearly special events and festivals that celebrate everything from our agricultural diversity and our rich Abraham Lincoln and Civil War heritage, to jeep trail riding, and Fall Color family fun. A list of events can be downloaded from the menu to the left.
Whether you're searching for a location for a weekend getaway, family reunion, great hunting experience, wedding or business gathering, Pike County has a lot to offer. All of these amenities can be found in our Pike County Visitors Guide, available as a downloadable pdf.
Discover Pike County, and let us become your home away from home. When in the area, please visit the Pike County Visitors Center, located in the Chamber of Commerce office at 224 W. Washington, next to the Pittsfield Community Center. In addition to our indoor lobby which is open from 9 AM until 4 PM, there is a 24-hour foyer where you can find maps and brochures to make your stay productive and enjoyable.
