Lincoln Days Civil War Reenactment

The first full weekend in June the Abe Lincoln Project, along with the City of Pittfield, sponsors the Lincoln Days Civil War Reenactment at Lake Pittsfield.  Come step back in time in historic Pittsfield as Union and Confederate forces prepare for battle at the 480 acre Lake Pittsfield site.  This a family oriented event, so bring the kids.  Events include Infantry, Calvary, and Artillery drills, a ladies tea and fashion show, and battle reeanactments both days.  There are children's games and crafts on Saturday, and a period church service on Sunday.  Hundreds of reenacters and civil war enthusiasts will gather for this annual event. This year's schedule is below. Lake Pittsfield, Pittsfield, IL

A living history event with Union and Confederate encampments; signal corps; artillery, cavalry and infantry drills; period vendors, food, music and blacksmithing; scavenger hunts for kids; Actual period wedding; President Lincoln available for interviews and photos all weekend.

On Saturday:  9:00  AM  Camps open to the public

                      12 Noon - actual Civil War period wedding, public invited

                      1:00 PM Ladies Tea and Wedding Reception

                      3:00 PM Civil War Battle Reenactment

                      Sunset: Evening tours of the camps

                      9:00 PM night cannon firing

  On Sunday:  9 AM Camps open to the public

                      9 AM  1860's Church service and Memorial Service for Civil War Veterans
