Thomas
Benton Gray House is a two-story post Victorian
home built in 1886 near New
Salem by Mr. Gray as his family residence. It
is a Historic Illinois
Centennial Farm, rich in family history and tradition.
Everett (great grandson of Thomas Benton Gray) and
Judy Dean moved into the house in 1964 and in 1975
Everett renovated the house, updating it again in
1996 keeping the original style of the house intact.
In May of 1996, Gray House was officially opened
as a Bed
and Breakfast. Everett is an accomplished woodworker
and has a working sawmill located on the premises;
walnut, cherry and oak are used extensively in the
renovation. The walnut staircase is original, as
is the built-in bookcase in the Walnut room.
The Beautiful Corner Bookcase in the Walnut
Room.
You are
invited to relax in a peaceful country atmosphere,
sit on the front porch and enjoy a quiet peaceful
getaway and an abundance of butterflies and birds.

and Bluebirds. Bluebird presentations are available.
There are games, books, puzzles, cards, croquet
and piano available. A satellite Direct TV is located
in the sitting room, and all four bedrooms have
local TV programming. The rooms have queen size
beds and a private bath. One room has twin beds.
Included is a Full Breakfast in the Elegant
Dining Room.

and Judy will greet you personally and do their
best to make your stay an enjoyable one. You will
