Central
State Bank was established in 1928
in Clayton Illinois as Clayton State Bank, and is
still a privately owned bank. Today the bank has
three full-service banking facilities located in
Pleasant Hill, Clayton and Quincy, Illinois. It
also operates mortgage offices in Bowling Green
and Hannibal, Missouri and Jerseyville, Illinois.
As Clayton State Bank the institution served primarily
the agricultural banking needs of rural Adams and
Brown County. In 1991, a branch facility was established
in Pike County (Pleasant Hill) and the bank's name
was changed to Central State Bank to better reflect
a growing regional presence.Central State Bank features
