Kaye Iftner has been the Executive Director of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce since May of 2008.
She grew up in Godfrey Illinois and attended Western Illinois University where she majored in Animal Science. It was there that she met her husband, David Iftner, and they were married in June of 1974.
After graduation Kaye joined American Cyanamid Chemical Company as a sales representative and was their first female sales rep. She worked sales territories in Missouri and Ohio before moving into Cyanamid’s home office in New Jersey in various marketing and sales management roles. In 2000, American Cyanamid was purchased by BASF, the world’s largest chemical company and joined Kaye joined BASF’s global marketing group. In 2004, BASF moved their global headquarters to Germany and Kaye accepted a job with BASF in North Carolina. She retired in November of 2006.
It was when she met David that Kaye’s love affair with Pike County began. Although David grew up in Northern Illinois, his mother and father were both from Pike County and the couple spent many weekends and vacations in Pike County deciding at one point they would retire here.
David transferred with the US Postal service in 2004 taking the position as postmaster in Milton Illinois. Kaye retired in 2006, took a year and a half off, and then joined the Chamber as Executive Director. Kaye is active in many organizations including Rotary, Pike County Economic Development, and he Pike County Endowment Fund. The couple work together as members of the Pittsfield Lions and the Pike County Quail and Upland Management Association’s Board of Directors. They reside in Pittsfield.
