Ribbon Cuttings organized by the Chamber

New businesses that have been open only a few months or businesses haveing a grand re-opening are invited to have a Ribbon Cutting.  The Chamber will work with the business to choose the best date, facilitate the event, invite the local media, and bring the scissors and digital camera.  Businesses that have relocated or significantly remodeled or expanded their space are also invited to have a ribbon cutting.  Chamber Board members and Ambassadors try to attend as many ribbon cuttings as possible.  Photos will be published on this web site and in the Chamber newsletter.

The Pike County Chamber of Commerce held a Grand reopening / Ribbon Cutting and “Meet & Greet” for Milton’s Big Buck Inn on Saturday, March 17th at 3:30 PM.   There was food, fun and music.

Milton’s Big Buck Inn, located at 248 Tucker Street in Milton is now under the ownership and management of Shanda Lopez and Art Kruger.  Shanda is an avid and accomplished huntress who came to Pike County to hunt, stayed at the lodge, and fell in love with the area and its people. When Milton’s Big Buck Inn became available, the partners took advantage of the opportunity to purchase it.

As an added attraction on Saturday, country singer Steve Conover visited the Inn and sang a few of his hunting-related songs.  Conover is from Winchester, Virginia and creates music for, about and by hunters.  His company and web site is HuntingMusic.com.

Milton’s Big Buck Inn’s hunt packages include meal and lodging at the inn. All hunts are fully guided. Milton’s Big Buck Inn has 7 rooms and a big gathering area where guests can share stories, eat, or just relax and watch TV.  Shanda and Art want their guests to feel at home while they are there. They also rent rooms for special occasions including class reunions, family reunions, festivals, Jeep events, and for those needing a room during the hunting season. Single and doubles as well as the bunk rooms that sleep 4 are available. Prices start at $45/night. Group discounts are available.
